The Sacred and the Sweet: A Friend’s Miracle Story: Shared with Her Permission

Hello everyone. 🙂 A friend of mine recently shared a miracle story of hers with me. I am grateful that she has given me permission to share it here. I have slightly edited the text that she sent me, and have run my edits by her and received her approval. It is both my friend’s desire and my desire that many people will be inspired and encouraged by this testimony.

“I love it when God performs miracles in our lives because it helps to carry us through some of the darkest times. These miracles provide that proof that there is NO WAY that God doesn’t exist.

One of my favorite personal miracle testimonies is the story of when I took my test for the NCBTMB (massage licensure exam). There had been a month worth of stories like this, but this is just one of them that happened during that month.

I was working at a Christian health ministry, and I was working so much that I had absolutely no time to study for this exam and I was trying to figure out how to move my stuff from Illinois to South Dakota during the same week I was to take the test ( another miracle story).

Earlier that week, a dear friend and mentor had talked about a story of Dr. Ben Carson’s where he couldn’t study for a math test, so he prayed for God to take it for him and promised that he would be sure to study the next time. When I heard that, I got that “string feeling” that said, “don’t study for this- pray”.

Well, every time I went to study, I would shut my books because I would get that again. It came time to go take the test. I had to go to a federal testing site, show my I.D., and get fingerprinted before getting locked into a room with cameras to take the exam. The exam came up and it was almost ALL New Age questions that we hadn’t learned in school.

I prayed for myself and the others in the room taking the tests and just went through flagging almost all of the questions besides the few I knew the answers to. This test was notorious for being one of the hardest tests to pass and isn’t even used anymore. So, when I got to the end of the test, I claimed, “I called upon the Lord and he showed me great and mighty things that I did not know”, then went through and just randomly picked answers. I finished the test and it said: “passed!”.

When I went to leave the testing room, I had to be fingerprinted scanned again ( safety measure to make sure the same people were going in and out) and my fingerprint would NOT match. They tried to get it repeatedly, said they didn’t understand because they watched me the whole time and I never moved from the chair for that whole hour or whatever, and finally just let me go.

I had the biggest grin on my face because I knew why that fingerprint didn’t match- I didn’t take the test, God did!!! The NCBTMB didn’t send test scores or anything: just a pass or fail.

Well, when I made it back to South Dakota, they had sent my test score to my massage teacher ( mine was the only one that came) and I had scored higher than the nation on it!! Was all soooo awesome!!!!”

God is so amazing! May we all come to trust Him fully is my prayer.

Blessings. 🙂

I’m just a young lady who is journeying through life with Jesus. I have much to learn and unlearn and I’m so grateful to be able to be guided by God in my growing process. I desire to learn and grow forever. May I never find a complacent, stopping point! As long as I continue to humbly walk with God, I will forever be His work in progress (adapted from the "About" page on my blog learnandgrow4ever.com).
