Jesus: Who He Is and How to Know Him: Jesus is both God and the Creator of the World.

Jesus is kind and welcoming. John 6:37

Hello everyone. šŸ™‚ Today, I will be sharing my first study on Jesus. This study establishes the facts that Jesus is the Creator of the world, and that He is God. Because there are 3 individuals in the Trinity/God-head, I devote a significant amount of time to explaining the Trinity/God-head in this blog-post.

I want to encourage you all to click on the Bible verses linked in this blog-post so that you can read them. For those who may be totally new to the Bible, the small numbers (1, 2, 3 etc.) that you see in the Bible passages are the verses of the chapters. Also, here is how to understand the way in which Bible verses are referenced. Example: John 3:16, 17= John chapter 3, verses sixteen and seventeen.

God’s Word is so amazing and I hope that you will be able to see the beauty of it as you read.

There are four books in the Bible which are commonly referred to as “the Gospels”. These books are Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Each of the Gospels tells the story of Jesus’ life.

In the gospel of John, Jesus is first referred to as “The Word”. John 1:1-3 These verses show us that Jesus is God and that He created the world.

Further on in this chapter, we can see that Jesus came to earth in human form. John 1:10-14; 17 . Backtracking slightly, I will explain what the Trinity, or Godhead, is. The first allusion to a 3-Person Godhead is found in the creation account in Genesis 1:26. Notice the word “Us”. When we go to the Gospels, we are able to determine Who composes “Us”.

After Jesus was baptized, a Voice was heard from heaven, declaring Him to be His Son (Jesus made a significant number of statements regarding His relationship with His Father. John 10:30, John 8:16-19, John 8:25-29) At the same time, Scripture records that the Spirit of God was seen, descending and remaining upon Jesus, in the form of a Dove. Luke 3:21,22

Towards the end of His time on earth, Jesus told His disciples that He would pray to His Father, Who would give them another Comforter who would be the “Spirit of truth”. John 14:15-20 Further on in this chapter, Jesus clarifies that the “Spirit of truth”, is also called “The Holy Spirit”. John 14:26

Today, in many Christian baptisms, the baptismal candidates are baptized, “in the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit”. God the Father, God the Son (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit all work together to save people from sin.

Some examples of how the God-head works together can be seen below (and much more could be said about all 3 members of the Trinity/God-head):

The Father teaches us and draws us to Jesus. He works in full cooperation with both Jesus and the Holy Spirit and wants to reconcile us to Himself through Jesus. John 6:44-,45, Romans 5:8-11 Although the Holy Spirit is not mentioned in these verses, by reading some of the other verses below, I think that you will be able to see that God the Father is indeed in cooperation with the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit convicts us, reminds us of the things Jesus teaches us and prays for us. He works in full cooperation with Jesus and God the Father. John 16:7-15 , John 14:15-20, Romans 8:26

Jesus physically came to the world to save us from sin. Matthew 1:21, John 3:16,17. He is currently interceding for us in heaven. Hebrews 4:14-16 Romans 8:34 He works in full cooperation with God the Father and the Holy Spirit.

Jesus is the member of the God-head who physically came to earth and demonstrated the character of God in a way that people could more easily see. He is also the member of the God-head who died for our sins. When we see how Jesus related to people while He was on earth, we can gain incredible insights on how we should relate to each other.

Furthermore, understanding why Jesus died and what the experience of His death was like can be a life-changing experience to anyone who is willing to let it be such. I hope that this series will warm your heart as you become acquainted with the best Man who ever walked the face of the earth. I do hope that you will stay on this life-changing journey with me. Blessings. šŸ™‚

Iā€™m just a young lady who is journeying through life with Jesus. I have much to learn and unlearn and Iā€™m so grateful to be able to be guided by God in my growing process. I desire to learn and grow forever. May I never find a complacent, stopping point! As long as I continue to humbly walk with God, I will forever be His work in progress (adapted from the "About" page on my blog
