Jesus: Who He Is and How to Know Him: A Belated Mother’s Day Post Will Be Up Later This Week :)

Jesus is kind and welcoming. John 6:37

Hello everyone. 🙂 It just dawned on me that I probably should have done a post on Jesus and mothers for today- Mother’s Day. To all of the mothers who may be reading my blog-posts, happy Mother’s Day to you. 🙂 You fill a very important, nurturing role in society and we all thank you for the love that you show.

To those who may have lost their mothers at a young age or at an older age, to those who may have practically lost their mothers due to their mothers’ drug addictions, mental illness etc., my heart goes out to you. I truly believe that God is available, 24/7 to fill the roles of the individuals who have either been unable or who chosen not to, fulfil their relational obligations to us. Here are some good example of this, specifically with mothers in mind.

“For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees.

As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.” Isaiah 66:12-13 (KJV)

“Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.” Isaiah 49:15 (KJV)

“When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.” Psalm 27:10 (KJV)

Having expressed the sensitivity that I believe needs to be expressed, I just wanted to let you all know that, later this week, I will publish a blog-post that talks about some times when Jesus was interacting with mothers while He was on earth. I hope that this post will be a source of encouragement and a rich blessing to many people.

Blessings. 🙂

I’m just a young lady who is journeying through life with Jesus. I have much to learn and unlearn and I’m so grateful to be able to be guided by God in my growing process. I desire to learn and grow forever. May I never find a complacent, stopping point! As long as I continue to humbly walk with God, I will forever be His work in progress (adapted from the "About" page on my blog learnandgrow4ever.com).
