Hello everyone.
Today’s blog post is simple. It’s just an encouragement to look to Jesus.
Why should we look to Jesus? Some of you may be asking.
Because He is the Best Friend we can ever find. When we pray to Him, we don’t need to be afraid that He will misunderstand us. He knows everything about us and loves us with a true and enduring love. He knows where we are coming from. He knows that the background of one person isn’t the background of another person. He understands our individual joys, fears, and sorrows and He is deeply compassionate. Hebrews 4:14-16 (NKJV)
Because He is the Savior, and He can save anyone from any type of sin. There is no sin, big or small, that He cannot deliver anyone from. Matthew 1:21 (KJV), 1 Peter 5:6-11 (NKJV)
Because He knows what is best for us. Since Jesus is the Creator of our world, and the world that He designed was untainted by sin,* we can know that He is our best Instructor on how life is meant to be lived. The framework to a happy life is so simple that even a child can understand it.
Jesus said, “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:30-31 (KJV)
Throughout the Bible, we can gain further detail on how to love God and how to love one another. We all understand that it is possible to have good intentions and yet the wrong ways of carrying out those good intentions. God understands this too. His heart is deeply warmed by our sincere efforts to show love to Him and to our fellow man, and He is there to be our Coach, patiently and lovingly instructing us as we grow in our abilities to reveal this love both vertically (to Him) and horizontally (to others). Mark 4:26-28
So, in summary, Jesus is worth knowing. I want to know Him better, and I hope that all of you want to do the same-or even to begin a journey with Him for the first time.
Blessings and courage to all.
*Unfortunately, our first parents, Adam and Eve, gave in to Satan’s lies, and sin came into the world: thank God for His plan of salvation that He designed in order to restore us to the way that things are supposed to be!
