Hello everyone. 🙂 I intended to make a Thanksgiving blog post yesterday, but I never got around to it, so here it is today. Happy belated Thanksgiving everyone!
I am grateful for God’s blessings to me over the past year. He has been refining my character and providing me with opportunities for growth.
I am also grateful for the supportive family that I have. They see the good, the bad, and the ugly in me, and yet they love me still. It is my desire, purpose, and commitment to show this same loving, loyal, forgiving, and supportive love to them as well.
I am grateful for my friends who bless me so much. It is my desire, purpose, and commitment to be a true friend to these special people in my life.
I am also grateful for the changes that God has been bringing about in my heart this year. I sense that God has been deepening His work of grace on my heart. The more I realize who I really am, how deep down and ingrained in me my sins really are, and how helpless I am to change myself, the MORE I crave Jesus’ help and the MORE lovely He seems to me. The more I experience this brokenness, the more compassion I feel towards others who are also struggling to come to Jesus.
Jesus is the One who can change us, and He wants us to come to Him so that He can shower us with His love, clean us up and transform us into the wonderful people that He knows that we can be. Whenever I have thrown my fears to the wind and come to Jesus, as insecure as I have felt, He has NEVER pushed me off. He knows all about my failings, mistakes, and shortcomings, and yet He has always let me come. He will relate to anyone who comes to Him in this same way. What a loving Savior Jesus is!
We have a lot to be thankful for!
“…O perfect redemption, the purchase of blood,
To every believer, the promise of God;
The vilest offender who truly believes,
That moment from Jesus a pardon receives…
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the earth hear His voice!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father, through Jesus the Son,
And give Him the glory, great things He hath done!”
-Fanny J. Crosby (from the hymn: “To God Be the Glory'”)
Courage to all!
