Bible Prophecy Studies: The 2300 Days Prophecy part 2

Hello everyone. 🙂

Today, I will start the next part of the 2300 days prophecy. This prophecy is extremely relevant to us today. Without further ado, let’s get into our study for today.

We ended our previous blog post on the 2300 days prophecy with God’s response to the cries of His people as they cried out to Him about the distortions of His ways that had been occurring. His response was:

…Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.” Daniel 8:14 (KJV)

It is now time to do a little review. In order to be able to calculate 2300 days in prophetic time, we must know what a day represents in prophetic time. In Bible prophecy, one day= one year. Ezekiel 4:6Numbers 14:34 . Now that we have been reminded of this, we can immediately understand that 2300 days must equal 2300 years. This is an important thing to remember as we proceed in our study for today.

Now that we have established this, we must find out what the start date and the end date are for this prophecy. To answer this question we must go to Daniel 9:24 and 25, where the angel Gabriel gives the prophet Daniel more information.

“Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.” Daniel 9:24-25 (KJV)

I would now request that you all read this blog post which talks about 70 weeks (490 years) of the 2300 days prophecy. When you are done reading this, you can come back to this blog post.

If we subtract 490(490 days=70 weeks) from 2300, we are left with 1810. Since we know that our end date in the 70 weeks (490 years) portion of the 2300 days prophecy is 34 A.D., we must count from this date to get to our end date of the 2300 days prophecy. If we add 1810 days (and a day=1 year in Bible prophecy as also explained in this blog post), we arrive at 1844.

Now, what happened in 1844?

…Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.” Daniel 8:14 (KJV)

So, from this verse, we can understand that the sanctuary was cleansed in 1844. The next question to answer is, which sanctuary is being referred to in this verse?

Well, could it be an earthly sanctuary? We have learned in the other blog post I’ve linked here that “when Jesus’ died, He also literally fulfilled what the ceremonies in the Old Testament sanctuary erected under Moses’ leadership, and the Jewish temples constructed thereafter had pointed to.” (feel free to visit this same blog post to gain more knowledge about this) So, it couldn’t be an earthly sanctuary that is being cleansed in 1844, at the end of the 2300 days prophecy, because the earthly sanctuary system was no longer needed long before 1844.

The next question to be answered is the following: is there a sanctuary in heaven? Hebrews 9:1-12 makes it very clear that there is. I recommend that you all take a moment to read these verses.

As I conclude this week’s blog post, I want to let you all know that we are going to take a little diversion in our next blog post in this Bible prophecy studies series: we will discuss the earthly sanctuary system and will then discuss the “cleansing of the sanctuary” in Daniel 8:14 in more detail. We need to first be familiar with the sanctuary system that God established for a time on earth in order to understand what has happened- as well as what is happening, in the heavenly sanctuary.

I hope that this blog post has been thought-provoking and that it has whetted your appetites to understand more about God’s plan of salvation for humanity. I hope that you will stay tuned for next week’s blog post (which won’t be on Bible prophecy), and I especially hope that you will stay tuned for the following week’s blog post which will be the next part of this series on Bible prophecy.

Blessings. 🙂

I’m just a young lady who is journeying through life with Jesus. I have much to learn and unlearn and I’m so grateful to be able to be guided by God in my growing process. I desire to learn and grow forever. May I never find a complacent, stopping point! As long as I continue to humbly walk with God, I will forever be His work in progress (adapted from the "About" page on my blog learnandgrow4ever.com).
