Heart Healing: The Power of the Love of God

“For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.” Ephesians 3:14-19 (KJV)

Lately, I have been deeply impressed by and affected by these verses. I have found, from personal experience as well as from things I have learned from the lives of others, that personal insecurities are a breeding ground for unkind attitudes and actions towards other people. On the other hand, when we are nestled deep down into the love of God, we begin to heal from our personal insecurities and are therefore able to love others in ways that we are not otherwise able to. I know this from personal experience.

In my walk with God, I have had glimpses of what His love can do to heal my personal insecurities, and to enable me to more fully show His love to others, but His love has not yet been fully perfected in my heart. I still need a more consistent and deeper surrender to, and trust in Jesus. I need to become more and more rooted and grounded in His love so that I can understand Him better, so that I can better understand His love and so that I can have my heart filled with every good thing that He wants to put into it. (I included a summary of Ephesians 3:17-19 in this paragraph)

My prayer is that all of us will either continue on or begin on our individual journeys of settling into the love of Jesus Christ.

Blessings and courage. 🙂

I’m just a young lady who is journeying through life with Jesus. I have much to learn and unlearn and I’m so grateful to be able to be guided by God in my growing process. I desire to learn and grow forever. May I never find a complacent, stopping point! As long as I continue to humbly walk with God, I will forever be His work in progress (adapted from the "About" page on my blog learnandgrow4ever.com).
