Heart Healing: His Earthen Vessel

Thanks to God, and only by His grace, I have reached a point in my life where I only want to be His vessel. I only want to be used by Him. I do not want to use Him. I am convinced that God did not put any of us in this world to live for ourselves. He put us in this world to reveal His love to others. True joy is found in selfless service to others.

Here are some beautiful verses:

“For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.” 2 Corinthians 4:6-7 (KJV)

God works in amazing ways which don’t make sense to us.

“…Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence. But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 1:25-31 (KJV)

How restful and amazing it is to fall into the arms of a God who is so loving and humble, and who is not bound by what is normal, usual, typical, or even rational. What a God!

I would like to close with a song that expresses these thoughts well.

There is a rest to be found in being vessels of God. If you haven’t yet allowed God to mold you into a vessel that He can use to share His love with others, I invite you to do so now.

Courage!

I’m just a young lady who is journeying through life with Jesus. I have much to learn and unlearn and I’m so grateful to be able to be guided by God in my growing process. I desire to learn and grow forever. May I never find a complacent, stopping point! As long as I continue to humbly walk with God, I will forever be His work in progress (adapted from the "About" page on my blog learnandgrow4ever.com).
