Jesus: Who He Is and How to Know Him: Why We Should Be Excited that Jesus Is Coming Again

Jesus is kind and welcoming. John 6:37

Hello everyone. 🙂 Today, I am SO privileged to be able to impress all of us of one reason why we should all be excited that Jesus is coming again. We can know that Jesus is coming again, but in order to be excited that He is coming again, we must long to see Jesus. I hope that this blog-post will cause all of us to long to see Jesus.

Note: Next week’s blog-post will be about how we can know that we are living in the end times, that Jesus is coming soon and what it will be like when He comes.

You see…sin is terrible….sin is beyond terrible. Sin is what has separated us from Jesus: our loving Creator.

“But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.” Isaiah 59:2 (KJV)

“If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me…” Psalm 66:18 (KJV)

Jesus NEVER intended us to be separated from Him. He made us and He knows, better than even we ourselves know, how we must live in order to experience true love, purpose and fulfillment in life. He always wanted to be able to see us face to face and enjoy life with us. When He first created us, He placed us in a beautiful, perfect world which was run on the principles of love, purity, righteousness and completely selfless, joyful self sacrificing love. I want to encourage you all to read Genesis 1 and Genesis 2 in order to get a picture of the life that God originally intended for us.

However, as we can read in Genesis 3, the first human beings sadly disobeyed God and as a result of their disobedience, sin came into the world and oh how it has hurt us! It separated us from God, and now, the world generally runs on the principle of selfish love. Unless we are allowing God to thoroughly convert our hearts, we tend to only show love towards those whom we favor: towards the people that make us feel good and/or do things for us that we appreciate.(Matthew 5:46-47). We don’t like to forgive our enemies and we don’t like to pray for their salvation and return evil with good.

The world is run on the principle of selfishness. Sometimes this selfishness manifests itself in murders, thefts, rapes, adulteries etc., and other times it manifests itself more subtly in things like pride, vanity, materialism, greed etc. More and more, I have been slowly coming to realize that nearly everything in my life has been motivated by selfishness or has had selfishness involved in it. My natural heart is in opposition to God’s beautiful heart of self sacrificing love. When our lives are run by selfishness, we cannot experience the connection with our loving Jesus that we would otherwise be privileged to experience.

Our selfishness has made it so that we are in quarantine on this earth until God finishes dealing with the sin issue in His wise and loving way, and until He comes again to take those who have forsaken their own ways and have surrendered to and cooperated with His loving ways. Those of us who do this will become one in heart with God, and will be able to eventually see Him face to face, instead of only having to commune with Him through prayer and the study of His word.

God is so merciful! He has been revealing my heart to me so that I will be willing to ask Him to give me a new heart. I want to encourage you all to read Ezekiel 36:26-27. These are absolutely beautiful verses and God will do for you, yes you, what He says that He will do in these verses if you will only humble your heart before Him, confess your sins and surrender to and cooperate with Him as He transforms you. This is what I am choosing to do, and I am so grateful that God is changing my heart.

Jesus wants to cleanse all of us from sin because He wants us to be able to live with Him forever when He comes to take those who love Him to live with Him.

In the meantime, God even uses the brokenness on this earth to reveal the connection that we were meant to have with Him.

Many biologically related family members on this earth have been separated from one another as the result of bad choices or unfortunate circumstances. Many people long to be reunited with their family members and are so joyful when this desire is able to become a reality. There seems to be a certain sense of completeness that isn’t felt by many until they can either find for the first time or be reunited and/or reconciled with the family that they are biologically connected with.

I want to invite you to watch the following videos of families being reunited. These videos touched my heart and gave me insight into the fact that, just as families were never meant to loose connection, we were never meant to loose our connection with our loving Jesus. Just as many adopted children and biological parents long to be reconnected with those who are biologically connected to themselves, we all will have a lack in our hearts and lives until we are reconnected with our loving Creator, Jesus Christ. Please watch these videos and be touched with both your need for God and His great love for and interest in you.

Note: You might want to grab a box of tissues before watching these videos!

In closing, what a beautiful future our loving Jesus has for those are willing to be cleansed and healed from sin by Him and reconciled to Him! A huge reason why we should be excited at the thought of Jesus coming again is that we will be able to be reunited with the One who made us, who knows each and every one of us intimately, and who loves us with a love that is stronger than death.

“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.” Revelation 21:1-7 (KJV)

God is going to make everything right again. He wants us to be able to be with Him and to experience the joys of a life lived in a beautiful place which is run on the principle of unselfishness. In order for this to work, we must become freed from selfishness in all of its forms, and we must allow God to plant His unselfishness deep down within our hearts. He wants us to experience the sweet communion and fellowship that only those who accept Him as their Father can experience. After all, He created us, He created the world…and so He is the One who knows exactly how we can truly find love, purpose, and fulfillment in life.

We are God’s children. Our sins have separated us from Him (Isaiah 59:2) but even now on earth, we can become reunited with Him in heart We can have this experience when we confess our sins and accept clean hearts from Him and we can spend time with Him , commune with Him, get to know Him and become more and more like Him through praying to Him and through reading His word. And then, when He comes in the clouds of glory to bring His children home to live with Him, we will rejoice and our burning desire to be with Him in person will become a reality.

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 (KJV)

Oh Jesus! Please help me to ready for this day! is my prayer. I hope that this is your prayer as well.

I’m just a young lady who is journeying through life with Jesus. I have much to learn and unlearn and I’m so grateful to be able to be guided by God in my growing process. I desire to learn and grow forever. May I never find a complacent, stopping point! As long as I continue to humbly walk with God, I will forever be His work in progress (adapted from the "About" page on my blog learnandgrow4ever.com).
